Pumpkin Pie

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!!
Today, we will be making a very special, common Thanksgiving dessert, pumpkin pie!
Did you know....
That in colonial times, pumpkins were actually used as the crust, they used the pumpkins' hard sides to create the crust, not the filling! But it was still a pumpkin pie. In 1621, the pilgrims started to gather sugar, to use for some meals, or for Thanksgiving dessert.
In 2010, the world record for the largest pie was 3,699 pounds!
Thanksgiving actually started when the Native Americans and pilgrims, who got trained by the Native Americans, gathered, harvested, and hunted so much food- enough for a three-day-feast-they created Thanksgiving, since they were giving thanks for what they had. But their Thanksgiving was different, they used to have lobster, craw fish, deer meat, turkey, chicken, apples, and other fruits and vegetables. Today we eat turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie.

Since their are so many things to make, we will be focusing on pumpkin pie, a wonderful dessert for a pleasant evening. Here the recipe!!
What You'll Need
  • 15 ounces, pumpkin puree, canned
  • 2 eggs
  • One frozen pie crust, 9 - 11 inches
  • 14 ounces, sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon, nutmeg
  • Sugar, one tablespoon
  • Cinnamon, one teaspoon
  • Ginger, 1/2 teaspoon
  • Vanilla, 1/2 teaspoon
  • 1/2 teaspoon, salt
  • 1/2 cup, heavy cream
What You'll Need To Do

  1. First, you'll need to take a large bowl and pour the pumpkin puree, and condensed milk, and mix.
  2. Then, add the sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger, and vanilla into the same bowl.
  3. Third, crack the two eggs into another small bowl, and whisk, until the eggs are properly mixed.
  4. Fourth, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  5. Then, mix the egg mix and pumpkin mix together and pour it into the pie crust.
  6. Then, put the pie crust on to the oven plate and bake for 55 minutes.
  7. After the pie is made, serve warm, or if you want you can add whipped cream!
For The Whipped Cream

  1. First, take the 1/2 cup of heavy cream and add sugar.
  2. Second, take the hand blender and stir the sweetened cream, until it is as thick as whipped cream.
  3. Then, put some heavy cream into a plastic bag, and at the corner of it, cut a small opening, for the cream to flow onto your pie.
  4. Enjoy, HAPPY THANKGIVING!!!!
